Many people believe they are on a spinning ball that is by pulled across space by other balls in the universe.  Many hold it to be true, not based on empirical evidence, but because they were told it was so.  In fact, as a child you were probably given the view of the spinning ball on a subconcious level, before anyone ever brought the subject up.  You would have most likely seen it on advertisments in magazines, on TV commercials, in cartoons and films, and of course there's that globe that was sat on the teachers desk in many of the classrooms.

 

When asked why they believe they are standing on a spinning ball, most people will quickly refer to the pictures from space, or boats going over horizons or they will assume the clever people in the universities would have noticed if they were wrong.  These are understandable reactions to have, but is it possible there are answers to these objections that are not being considered?  I hope to address these types of questions in the Q&A section.
